Flower Power

Flower Power is a heartfelt exploration weaving together female superheroes, biblical women, and seven distinct flowers. Rooted in the artist’s fascination with empowering female portrayals, love for flowers, and passion for crocheting, each intricately crafted flower symbolizes strength in both stems, petals, shapes, and bold colors mirroring the characteristics of the heroic women they represent. These botanical heroines serve as symbolic representations of the extraordinary women they depict, forging a seamless connection between the enchanting world of flowers and the heroic narratives of remarkable women.

 

The artist experiments with structure and form to translate meaning to materials like yarn, thread, beads, wire, and canvas. Ultimately, each of these bodies of work emphasizes the exploratory nature of fiber arts that has continuously allowed space for experimentation and reflection.
